  • couple things:
    1. create folders in your media pool to separate out the clips, you can put the clips with duplicate names into folders that will organize them, this is not necessary but it can be helpful. If you have multiple EDLs in your timeline area you can then right click on the timeline and choose “reconform from folders” and choose the specific folders you want that EDL or timeline to pull clips from, this can be very helpful.

    2. if you have a clip with the same timecode or name you will often get a “c” on the clip in the conform page which means there is a conflict there. If you right click on the “c” you will get a window that will pop up and ask you to resolve the conflict by picking the correct shot.. once you do so – the clip will then have a “r” on it meaning the conflict has been resolved.

    You can right click in the timeline of you want to duplicate and select “create new session with handles” and this will duplicate the current timeline with the option of adding handles. Just set the handles to zero and you name it what you want.
