Tony, i was up against a time crunch and settled for AE and import a .mov to lay over my clip. i did this before i received your post but i will give this a try as well. AE might not be the best idea (or might be) but it got the job done to get my comp out for the client.

Mark, i will also give the alpha channel scenario a shot too. I figured FCP had this option, just couldnt put it all together in my head fast enough.

i took over this project at work because we lost our editor. luckily, most of the work has already been done. i will eventually have to get this out for broadcast. what is the best route i should take so that i can ensure the quality of my crawl and logo are at its best? my AE cut looks fine, on a monitor of course, but i just want to make sure it will translate to the TV.

hey guys,
thanks for the feedback. i intend to display a cable tv feed as the main focus with my own pre rendered media as the secondary feed. if the cable feed isnt possible, something like a dvd player would be suitable as well.

hi rick,
im completely new to AE also and i thought your video was pretty good for being a novice AE user. i will be experimenting with my first AE slideshow in the next couple of days. what techniques did you use and how long did it take you to complete this project? any info would be greatly appreciated.

yeah thats exactly what i did. only problem is in my css sheet. heres an example:

body { background-image: url(https://www.mywebsite.com/css/terminal.jpg);
background-attachment: fixed; background-repeat: no-repeat}

everytime i stretch the browser larger than my css backround image, my css background color is displayed. on the bluestepstudio site, their background image seems to grow or shrink when the browser is stretched.

thats what i figured. i tried putting a swf in my css backgroundbut it didnt work. here is a sample:

{background-image:url(file:///cpu/Users/me/Desktop/css/test.swf)

is this not the correct way to insert a swf?
