Hello Joshua,
so you are telling us, we all bought a fuel efficienct car with a big hole in the fueltank! Don’t forget Black Magic Design is also the supplier of the big hole!
I could better bought a state of the art laptop and a cheap intensity shuttle i think,
I am still not able to capture in 1050@50p due to the high CPU load I get glitches, so I have to reduce quality,
Please do what Richard askes for and make the preview switchable, now the complete computer gets unusable/unreliable by the 100% CPU-use,

Hello Scott,
do you run it with the last software version?
Media express 3 has a much lower CPU-usage than the 2.3 versionwith kind regards,

Hello Scott,
I am running it on a HP Compaq 6710b (KE121ET),
see https://www.laptopshop.nl/product/52826/hp-compaq-6710b-ke121et.html#product_specifications, it is in Dutch but the specs are international,
this one is with a dual core, Vista 32 bits,
strangely no preview, but the recordings are OK, only @ 1080p50 still gives missing frames,with kind regards,

September 19, 2011 at 11:06 am in reply to: H.264 Pro…have the updates worked? time for me to choose!Hello Scott,
should work,
I capture also over HDMI @ 1080i,
at the moment I use it with a laptop with Vista (32 bit) and 2Gb RAM, max. resolution 1280×800, I have no preview in Media Express 3, but the captured video’s are OK,
the previous high usage of the CPU is much lower in Media Express 3 compared to the 2.3 version.just like Eric I also capture only short clips (approx. 3 min.), maybe this could give you some sync problems,
I tried to capture at 1080p50 over HDMI, this still gives glitches, question to Eric, did you a test with a high framerate like p50?
regards,
Jack

Hello Joel,
I did a test for you, the size is 1280x720p,

August 10, 2011 at 7:38 pm in reply to: H.264 glitchy video and some experience with the device so farHello Kristian,
did also some testing, great improvement! No more glitches @1080p25 by the YUV-connection,
but still a high CPU-usage, I run it under Vista-64, with an Intel Core 2 Duo @ 3.16Ghz (E8500), 4 Gb RAM, NVIDIA Geforce 9600GT
@1080p, 10Mbits/s : 50-70% CPU-usage
@1080p, 20Mbits/s : 85-100% CPU-usageagain great job! but please keep improving it
regards
Jack
