Great info! I’ve already recorded the singing part in 4k and the singer has black clothes against black background, although it’s lit in a way that the person clearly stands out of the background. I’m willing to do rotoscoping frame-by-frame if that’s what it takes, since the fire part is only 10 seconds long. I believe this is a job for After Effects or can it be accomplished in Premiere? The shot is relatively simple so it’d be nice to do it in Premiere.

Right, I A/B’d the HQ & LT formats and I do think I noticed somewhat difference with HQ displaying the blacks more accurately. I’ll stick to HQ for this project and see what I’ll use in the future, thanks.

The file bounced back from the broadcaster with a message that the file is progressive instead of interlaced. Can I convert it again by changing Sequence settings’ Field dominance to Upper field and it will be interlaced? Or should I convert the Prores Hq file to a new Prores hq file with interlaced upper field first and then convert it to mxf? Thanks in advance!

Thank you! I exported the file through XDCam transfer and it seems like it’s fine. One question is still the audio: I had to change dual mono while exporting and when I play the .mxf-file in Vlc, it plays in mono. In XDCam Transfer preview it plays correctly (in stereo). I know Vlc isn’t the best software to try these files, so is it safe to assume the file is encoded correctly?

This is a common problem. The way I’ve found it to work was to use “export using quicktime conversion”.
