To be honest, an alternative download is not so difficult find with Google.
But that is supposed to be illegal, isn’t it?

On the other hand, it might as well be illegal to retract support and make an essential update unavailable on purpose and without warning, considering the damage you can inflict this way.

I am on Snow Leopard. I see a lot of files in the Library/Update folder called CoreFP.pkg and it must be one of them, but I would not know how to find out which one. Any ideas?

I have no idea, and if it doesn’t work, you would be stuck with 7.0.0.

It is pretty ominous that the Pro Apps updates can’t be downloaded anymore.

Hmmm… Does this mean that if you need to reinstall FCP, you can’t update to 7.0.3 anymore unless you were so clever to save the Pro Apps 2010-02 file some time ago?
    That wouldn’t be very nice…

    Great, thanks again Andy.

However, it is sad that such a basic function is not part of XDCAM Transfer itself.

Thank you Andy, I will have a look at it – but do I understand that neither FCPReconnect nor XDCAM Transfer will let me just reingest the parts of the media that I need to reconstruct the sequence?

It was imported with XDCAM Transfer and a Sony PDW-U1, which is not suitable for SDI/RS422 capture.
I tried Log and Transfer for the reimport, but no success.

You can also click on any track inside the gap and then hit backspace – fastest workaround for me.
Still looking forward to the fix though…

  • Bouke,

Assuming that you are right, can you also explain why this problem surfaced after seven years, or to be more precise: after the switch from Digibeta to XDCAM? Because I have no reason to think that they changed their methods or recording – probably things have always been slave-but-not-genlocked.
I know it’s their problem, but I’m just curious.

    Thanks,

    Jaap

  • Well I didn’t shoot this – it’s a different company.

How can a camera be “slaved but not genlocked”?
