HDV and HDCAM are 1440×1080. FCP for editing makes it 1920×1080.
Do all your renders in your HDV project.

Export the whole sequence out as DVCPRO HD 1080i60

Then the post house can work with that sequence

    Try a short test.

I have answered my own question!

You cannot shoot 24pN on a firestore or direct into computer….
So if you wanted better slo-mo, you would shoot 720 60p
if you are not shooting with a P2 card. Then use the FRC
    to extract slo-mo…..

    Ok,
The FRC only seems to work on un-edited 59.94 720 clips.
I mean clips that are dumped direct from P2.
It does not seem to work correctly if the shot
    was saved again at 59.94.
Typically you would only shoot 59.94 for high-action
sequences where you want to make slo-mo shots.
But with the HVX200 you can shoot 24pN at 60fps anyway.
Many times I have shot at 48 fps and if I need the clip
in regular motion it’s speeded up 200%.

    But I digress……

Take your 59.94 clips, drop into a 720 60p sequence.
    Export: Using QuickTime Conversion.
    OPTION>Setting>Compressor: DVCPRO HD 720p60
    Frame Rate: Custom 23.976
(I think if you pick 24 it is the same rate, regardless the info shows it as 23.98 in FCP)

I learned this after many shooters sent me re-encoded clips at 59.94
that the FRC did not like. I avoid 59.94 and the FRC when I can.

    Thanks,
it is still shameless commerce in that regard as Panasonic wants to sell cameras and I want to sell footage,
but we try to art it up when we can.

I never kid around, this demo will be used by regional sales reps at Panasonic to showcase
P2 and the HVX200. This is the forum for P2 Panasonic. So far about 200 gigs of
downloads from a 220 meg file.
