Hi Leo!! Yes, the cache/scratch disks are setup to the same drive in the project preferences as well. I am pretty sure that the error that apears on premiere is the reason of this, well 80% sure, you are the expert hehehe, but how to avoid it?? have you heard about this error message before??

    Thanks Leo.

Thank you very much Leo!! Again 😉

I already did that too. I even wrote down in a paper the exact name and letter of each hard disk drive, and I’m sure that the project match the drive, but when I open the project and Premiere ask me for the file, I select the file but again the error window appears (the one I wrote before). I’ve done this several times.

The problem also is when I link the files one by one I lose the previews. So, what could it be?

    Thank you very much Leo!!

  • Hello Leo! And Thank you very much for your answer.
I already try that, to highlight all the offline video files and try to link. But like I wrote before, it keeps sending me the error message that says something like this: “This file is video only and it’s different from the original file that is video and audio”

So the only way I can do it is linking them again one by one. But imagine that I have hundreds and hundreds of files in one project, it takes forever. And also I lose all the previews so is even more time.

So my question is if in the hard disk drive there are still the folders with the Encoded files, Media cache files and preview files, is there another way to link them? So I don’t have to do it all again. (I mean the files are still there! why can’t Premiere link them automaticaly?)
I’m not sure, but I think that all this has to do with the error message that doesn’t let me link the files when Premiere ask me to.

But how to avoid this error message?

    Thank yoy very much Leo!!
