Woo there cowboy ! As mentioned we sorted our issues 4 years ago by re installing the program. We’re still okay. The issue is actually not as you suggest, that we need to look for another program, our FCP 7 (and that of many of my professional colleagues) works just fine in our chain. It’s the X factor – the manner in which Apple left a whole lot of people (companies) stranded when they launched X.

How many years is this now (almost 4) and FCP still has these bugs. Notwithstanding all the great advice and using the latest edition is probably a first step, back then we had to reinstall FCP to fix the bug. The real issue to day is support for FCP 7. It ain’t gunna get any better with Apple !

I posted the original concern. We have since experienced all the problems identified in the threads. 7.0.1 was not the fix for us. We fixed the ‘total renaming’ issue by removing FCP and doing a clean re install. We had to do this because our audio files all had the same name and consequently our OMF files could not be read in Pro Tools. Onward and upward. Is the real issue the relationship between FCP with Snow Leopard?

    Best,
    Ivo
