I’ve found that exporting using 15 frames or 30 works just fine but that is the easy part. The trick to keeping the video clear is how you EXPORT it from APP2.0. After many attempts I’ve been unable to get clear video from App2.0 because there is a bug in the software when you try to use the Tech Smith Screen Capture Software. I upgraded to APP CS4 and all of my clarity issues are gone. Here are my settings for export.

Codec: Tech Smith Screen Capture Codec

    Microsoft AVI

Frame Rate: 15 (this really helped with speeding up the download/streaming)
Field type: Upper First (This gave the video the clarity that I’ve been working towards all this time)
    Aspect: D1/DV NTSC
Render at Maxium Depth (16 bit)

Here is an example video produced with the output settings from above.

Here is another thing that makes a big difference. When you export your video in Premiere Pro make sure that you use the Tech Smith Screen Capture Codec with a field type of “Upper First”. When I do just those two things alone… I’m able to get crystal clear video rendered from Premiere Pro CS4… here is a sample clip that I made.

Thanks for your responses guys.. I will look at everything really close and I look forward to making my first pan and zoom… I had never heard of “Kids stay in the picture” therefore I’ll check that out as well.

    I appreciate it…

Everything that I have is in Adobe Premiere.. I use it for animation, editing, etc….. I’ve spent much time learning and using the power that it has… The strange thing is that just recently Adobe stopped playing mpgs that it used to play without problem. Now I get this Media Pending error that won’t go away.

Is this a codec issue? If so then how can I figure out which codec this file needs to make Adobe happy the way it used to be?

How do I convert to MS-DV AVI Type2? I have the latest version of videoredo and that doesn’t give me the option. I tried to get VirtualDub to Run but it has a bunch of missing DLL issues. Is there another solution/tool that you know of to get a mpeg coverted to MS-DV AVI Type 2

Thanks sooo much for this explanation. I upgraded to 1.01 (well applied the fix) and now everything works just the way I want. I create my timelines in a particular order and the resulting VTSs reflect that.

No you’re not wrong.. However, it won’t allow the person to backup to the previous title |<<.
