But when the target is a Full HD file and the .avi for a 12 minute video ends up with over 100GB? What is wrong? Other 1920×1080 files as WMV have 560MB but with AVI the rendering takes ages and the file size is humungous.

Right, let me know with all your knowledge how come a 12 minute 1920×1080 video ends up 100GB of file size, you clearly know what you are talking about.

There are no specific specs, just needs to be full HD just as it was shot or as a Blue Ray file for instance.
