Bob, although your answer is very clear, it makes things a little complicated. I do most of my jobs in HD these days. Only thing is, my clients usually see them in SD on their TV’s, projections screens and computer monitors. If I understood you well, the big difference is between CRT and LCD

I understand what you are saying, but the question for me is whether the SD picture on my Sony PVM monitor is a better reference for low end color correction then the HD picture on my Dell.

Hi Bob,
I bought that monitor but I didn’t trust it enough to be a good reference monitor for color correstion. Am I wrong??

I use a Kona LHe and I guess the drivers for that card are not very different to the drivers for the Kona 3 as far as the PAL signal is concerned. I have no problems at all with it

Well my 8 core (9 gigs of RAM) does smoke with renders, with the activity monitor having everything at the maximum, but it crashes sometimes too. Also having the beachball sometimes when closing down. Strange thing is also that only After Effects uses my 8 core to the maximum. Apple applications like FCP or compressor are still very slow.

When my 1394 port started to be flaky it turned out to be that the firewire cable was broke….

I’m having the same experience when I try to use my Kona card with Premiere. It’s a shame’ I was hoping I could take benefit of Dynamic Link with After Affects
