Do you happen to have more information as to where I can find a link to download SubtitleEdit for Mac? So far all I’ve been able to find are .exe files. Any help is very much appreciated.

Thank you for your reply Michael.

I had no doubts about exporting the file as 1920×1080,
that is the actual question – how to export a 1920X1080 digital file which is broadcast ready out of a 1440×1080 timeline.

To be more specific, I’m concerned about
the Pixel Aspect Ratio setting in the export box.
Should I set it to Square Pixel?
1.33? Is 1.33 pixel Ratio the same thing as HD(1440X1080) Pixel Aspect Ratio. The question is in regards to work flows in both Vegas 8.0 and Final Cut Studio 2 (Pro 6).

    Thank you.

    I have a similar question.
I need to deliver a client’s HDV project (shot on a Sony and edited in Vegas 8.0) as a 1920×1080 digital file for a U.S. TV network which broadcasts in HD.
I usually work with Final Cut but don’t see way the workflow should be much different. When rendering/exporting should I use a 1 pixel ratio or a 1.33 in the settings?
    Thank you,
    Itai

  • I’ll give the ProRes a try. The biggest problem I have is with Motion Graphics that were made using Motion 3.0 for a HDV 720P24 Project.
As far as the interlacing – all interlace footage is NTSC so the fields order is lower first and I’m trying to convert it to Progressive so the fields should be none. Any idea why this conversion is not going through well?
    Again, thanks’ a lot.

  • Hello Rich, Thank you so much for your response.
I’ve tried exporting all the clips via Quick Time Pro into SD 16X9 720X480, progressive, Uncompressed Quick Times.
When I’ve imported these new clips into a new Sequence I still had the same problems with jagged lines.
I didn’t want to use Apple ProRes as the intermediary Codec from SD/DV files due to the much larger file size that would result from that.
I’m thinking of setting a batch project through compressor, do you have any recommendations in regards to that?

    Thank you,
    Itai
