hm i see what you mean, not sure if they’re professional enough to go and get the software in the first place though. In fact they may not even care enough to go to that extent. My concern is personally developing bad business habits.

ok so it seems the general consensus is that yes, it is hard if you’re overworked, but a checklist may be the one and only godsend.

thanks Joey, that’s more like what i was expecting to hear intially. I had already begun to do that also! Great to know i’m on the right track. I have been quickly demanding that everything be organized and written on paper as a checklist. I put things in bold that aren’t done yet, and go down the list unbolding things as i do them. It seems to work quite well. Now i just need to make this official and strict. right?

click the layers you want to (not) be lit and hit the ‘a’ key twice on your keyboard. the material options will open and you can change the “accepts lights” toggle option.

Whew, that’s both good and bad to know.

Well, vacations are normally bad for the company, and it was the same at my last company. At least it seems they’re letting me off the hook when i forget because they know that i’m overworked. Thanks a ton. I was beginning to question myself.

haha yes that would be much easier – i see i was thinking of the other way around in which you would have to render from the original project file.

i’ve had to do this before on my own projects because a client wanted something a different res, the solutio was to go through each individual comp and put in the proper comp settings. then of course doing the same for each layer that needs it as well.. it’s meticulous and i hate doing it – i know of no other way. you might even end up having to change particle sizes, velocities, camera positions, depth etc.. depending on the project

the shortcuts might help out (ctrl+k or command+k for comp settings… ctrl+shift+y or command+shift+y for layer settings)
