I dont mind paying Adobe a monthly fee… But the program better work every time I open it 😉

Chris, How big do the projects get at your facility? I’m asking because as much as I love the “no transcoding” and direct to edit in PPro I definitely do miss the smooth scrub search we had with FCP and still have with Avid. I notice when there are lots of files that are direct from camera, the lag from scrubbing on the timeline or source monitor can be somewhat annoying. I understand the processor is doing extra work to decode the video but at what point is it better to just transcode again?

  • Yes I believe it has. But I thought if I activated it on another system it would deactivate else were.
I remember this happened to me once when I was activating a version of CS6 and prompted me a message saying do I want to deactivate the other system.

I didn’t get it this time though.

    Thanks!

  • I am able to update the installed software like PPRO, AE and so on. I even updated everything.

I definitely think thats what the problem is. Now the question is how do I get it out of Trial mode.

  • Hmm after doing some more reading I think it maybe because PPRO is running in Trial mode…
But how can that be is i activated it?

  • It was a trial install but then I activated it though my Adobe cloud account.

I just did a fresh install of OSX and FCP7 and PPRO CS6 with all current updates and still the same issue.

I thought it was a spanned clip as well but the thing is, the project is on one external drive. I plug that in at the studio and everything works. I plug it in here and I get what you on that image.

Nothing has been moved or transferred.

Even when I start a new project and reimport though media browsers, I still get the same thing.

    Thanks!

What version of XML did you export from FCP7?

  • FCP did not import the files. I just have it installed because I thought it would install the proper codec necessary for playback.

All of the files were imported through Adobes Media Browser.

I guess thats the weird thing on my end that PPRO did not recognize the XDCAM files until I installed XD & MP4 EX from calibratedsoftware dot com

    Thanks

Its a shame there is not a way to do a batch RMD sync in PPro.

Can you recommend a sync program for Mac? Looking around now… I want to be sure I can just select the RMD file to be synced.

    Thanks for your help!

Yeah, I figured that might be the case. I thought highpoint was on the better side of RAID controller cards but looks like they have some work to do… which I’m not hopeful that they will.
