    Hey everyone,

Im currently cutting a project that was shot with Sony EX1 and FS700. We are using PPRO CS6 to see how the native camera work flow goes and I have to say its amazing. However…

At the studio everything works great. Loading all the clips through Media Browser into PPRO worked flawless and I was able to hit the ground running. But when I take the project home with me and load it up, everything seems to load fine but PPRO is not seeing the full clips of my EX1 footage. It is for the FS700.

I have PPRO installed along with FCP7. When I first loaded up the project it would not even understand the XDCAM files… Which was weird because I thought FCP7 installed that codec. But after digging around online I found calibratedsoftware dot com and downloaded XD and MP4 EX which solved the issue for PPRO not understanding the XDCAM files. But now its not reading the full file.

Here is what the time line looks like

It plays and once it hits the cross lines it just goes black.

    Any ideas? Thanks!

Did FCP import theses files first?

PPro handles -native- XDcam files without issues if they were transferred properly.

FCP did not import the files. I just have it installed because I thought it would install the proper codec necessary for playback.

All of the files were imported through Adobes Media Browser.

I guess thats the weird thing on my end that PPRO did not recognize the XDCAM files until I installed XD & MP4 EX from calibratedsoftware dot com

    Thanks

Is it a trial install of Premiere Pro? You shouldn’t have to install anything if the camera files were transferred properly…Adobe just reads it.

If I had to guess, your screen grab looks like a spanned clip that the second part of the clip was in a different media folder that wasn’t transferred with the video project.

It was a trial install but then I activated it though my Adobe cloud account.

I just did a fresh install of OSX and FCP7 and PPRO CS6 with all current updates and still the same issue.

I thought it was a spanned clip as well but the thing is, the project is on one external drive. I plug that in at the studio and everything works. I plug it in here and I get what you on that image.

Nothing has been moved or transferred.

Even when I start a new project and reimport though media browsers, I still get the same thing.

    Thanks!

Hmm after doing some more reading I think it maybe because PPRO is running in Trial mode…
But how can that be is i activated it?

I haven’t loaded CS6 in trial mode…and never installed it on a Mac. If you go to help and launch “updates”, what happens?

I am able to update the installed software like PPRO, AE and so on. I even updated everything.

I definitely think thats what the problem is. Now the question is how do I get it out of Trial mode.

There are only 2 activations available for each serial number…has your serial number been activated on two systems already?

Yes I believe it has. But I thought if I activated it on another system it would deactivate else were.
I remember this happened to me once when I was activating a version of CS6 and prompted me a message saying do I want to deactivate the other system.

I didn’t get it this time though.

    Thanks!
