    Ok – this is what just dawned on me and maybe this is the problem.

    I have DVCPRO-HD footage in FCP that I’m trying to view over firewire through my DV camera, using my camera as a pass-through to the external monitor.

    Is this the problem? If so, maybe I will just down-convert the DVCPRO footage to DV for this purpose. I only need the footage for the external monitor for some ADR work.

    Yep, both the viewer and canvas are set to “Fit To Window”. Yes, the monitor is connected to the s-vid on the camera.

    I have several drives on the computer. (I have a new Mac Pro) Final Cut Pro is located on the system volume, the video files are all on a different hard drive.

    Still not able to play. Any other thoughts?
