The Teranex converters have come down in price, not that Black Magic has purchased them – you might want to consider looking at those.

For simple rendering and not necessarily streaming video, a managed switch is not necessary. While the cost difference may not be that high I’m just trying to save you a buck. You can just throw a NAS on your current network or use one of your systems to serve out a file share.

If you are talking about sd-then yes. Export to compressor-drag the dv anamorphic setting onto it and ensure you crank up the resize filter and motion estimation filter

My experience has been that you need a central data store. It can be an afp drive.

Any ideas? The issue seems to come and go, sometimes when I hit play there is a bit of clicking and digitization until I hit stop again.
