    Thank you for looking at the information, Ole. I have been happily using Sony Vegas Pro for 10 years and have graduated through versions 8 to 17. For five years I have been using the .mts files from a Canon G10 and G40 without problems. I have tried using the conversions using Prism software and the results are the same: vegas is not responding. Vegas 17 build 421 will not handle the files. I had hoped to stay with AVCHD into retirement as clients are happy with 1920×1080, and I do not need further resolution.
