Okay next question or maybe it’s just trying to better understand things…

My project settings and render settings should always match, otherwise things will get thrown off?

I just want to make sure I’m understanding you correctly…

Title Safe Area, should all video, text, graphics of any kind stay within the smaller box? Some of mine wasn’t.

    Thank you for your help!

    Hi Douglas,

I solved the problem by changing my project settings from 32-bit to 8-bit and it fixed the problem. Thank you for all your help.

I’m viewing the content in Vegas video preview and other players such as Quicktime and Windows Media Player. As the content is rendering, it shows frame by frame what the output should look like and it’s coming out darker than it should.

Is there any way to fix this problem? Unfortunately, switching to .m2t is not an option. The network requires the format to be .mov.

    Hi Danny,

Thank you for all the great tips and help you are providing this forum with.

I am kind of in the same boat as Corey was! I just started working as an editor with a small producitn company which edits small ads for broadcast TV, both in SD and HD.

My problem right now id that I need to export my timeline which is HD source video (shot in HD, format = H.264, Attributes: 1920x1080x24) to QuickTime DVCPRO HD (1080i) format.

When I select the above default settings in Vegas 8, the colors of the output video are much darker than what i see in the time line! I have tried playing with may paramters in the render/custom section, but no luck!

Can you please help me with this?

    Thanks,

    Herman
