I agree with the others on this thread. I have authored 8 one hour + DVD’s for commercial release this past year, some of which involved lengthy scenes with primary color washes. Though initially shot in Europe on PAL, they ended up as NTSC region zero. The colors often look a little washy on LCD, but without broadcast limiting, the result on CRT’s (and there are still several million out there) was atrocious.
Whereas I found the simple expedient of running the color limiter on the final pre mpeg pass fast, efficient and seamless.
Hugely reccomended.
