    Thanks Fermin,

That works fine. I forgot to look there, as I was hoping for a one-step solution.

My clients existing projects are HDV 1080i, now I need to mix xdcam footage shot in 1080p. I guess I will have to figure out a new work flow. Since I can’t seem to find a way to bring the xdcam footage through Xdcam Transfer, within the media 100.

So everything has to be imported twice. Unless I just use the Xdcam Transfer program to unwrap the clips outside of the media 100. Then use “import media to the standard and codec”.

Is there anything I am missing? An easier way to do this?

    Thanks,
    Harry

Keep in mind this will all come at a price. For a new version that might deliver on some of the features we thought we were already getting with version 13. Like all the EX XDCAM formats that don’t work properly now, importing into the media 100. We bought it less than a year ago, and soon we’ll have to buy an update (new version) to get the functionality we thought we bought. I am not excited about it.

May 29, 2009 at 4:31 pm in reply to: EX3 New Lens Suggestions?

There is no way the EX3 lens is suppose to be jerking. I have often had trouble over a zoom of 10 (at 13, 16, even 18 speeds). Sony needs to fix this! They know it’s a common problem. But they want me to send in the camera that I depend on day to day to make a living. I have a hard time being without it for possibly two or three weeks to fix.

I am going to continue contacting them, until a reasonable solution is reached. I suggest others with this problem do the same. There may be many more users out there that have no idea the zoom is defective. Call and write Sony… that’s what I am doing.

    Thanks guys.

I thought it was me. My 3 month old EX3 does the same thing. Now I know I’d better see what the dealer or Sony can do for me.

The camera is great, but the zoom rocker is unacceptable. None of my other cameras have every had a slow zoom problem.

Thanks for helping me discover that it’s the camera, and not me.
