I agree. I have moved over to SV9 from Avid Xpress as although AVID is pretty solid – its like a landrover – you have to pay for any extras. THe editing in SV9 is much easier and quicker with many more options (though the chroma key could have more features) …. Anyway – I am shocked at the render time. This is a joke. I dont want to spend an hour rendering something only to find it don’t look right. I am rendering a green screen chroma keyed over a still JPG. there are colour and defocus effects on both. The scene is 1.30 mins and it will take 60+ mins to render ….. This makes it really difficult to do quick experiments. What does SV suggest??

I am finding trouble sending to an external monitor too. I used to use AVID xpress pro on the same PC and that sent out fine (you clicked a button from green to blue). But even though I have clicked all the boxes and buttons (inc the blue TV button on the preview monitor ) – I still get nothing. I have a Texas Instruments IEEE from 2004 (win XP SP2). I am sending to a SONY DVCAM firewire in/out and THEN SENDING VIA PHONE/COMPOSITE TO A MONITOR. I can capture fine from the tape vie IEEE and I can play DVcam tapes out to the Monitor – so all the cables are working and the DVcam info is on the screen of the external monitor. I can also control the deck from the capture module (play etc) so a signal is going TO the deck frpm the PC via IEEE. THE DVcam is switched to DV (input select). I cant think what else to do.
