Hi Eric, I’ve got FCP 10.5 on an Imac running Catalina 10.15.7 connected via Thunderbolt to a Black Magic AMA Radeon Pro 580 . Thanks Guy

I am not sure if FCP can see the Black Magic box I have attached to my Imac to get video output. A/V Output is grayed out, and if I go to Playback in Preferences, there is no mention of Black Magic under GPU. Any ideas? Thanks

Inadvertently failed to check my media creation file, and sent loads of render and fx to my computer hard drive. Now I am sending the external drive, with everything else on it, to the Online. Can I get the stuff back from the HD and on to the external? Thanks

I want to consolidate the final sequence to a new drive to take to Online, Dubb etc, and ignore current drive

What will happen to my Linked clips if I consolidate to the new drive?

Editing from home these days and would like to add a third monitor for full screen playback on my Avid. I’ve got an iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2017) with a 3.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5 and Radeon Pro 580 8 GB, running Catlina 10.15.7. No break out box and Monitor 2 in one of the Thunderbolt 3 ports. I failed to assign the correct audio roles when I imported media.

If I now change them in the browser, they don’t show up changed in the timeline or indeed the XML. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks Guy

I have two screens on FCPX. All fine. Except that now whatever I put in the secondary screen, be it Timeline, Browser cannot be moved, ie if I try and pick it up at the top, nothing happens stuck like glue.Can’t resize. Am I being stupid? Thanks

Thanks Bill, suspected it might be an inadequate drive problem. I’m using one of those orange Lacie rugged drives. Handy it’s rugged actually because the postman drops them through the mailbox, so they start with a 3 foot fall to a hard surface! Thanks again I’ll check it out, Best Guy

I’ve just moved to FCPX from Avid and am editing from media on an external hard drive. Library is on my internal drive. I want to back the whole thing up and have bought a new external drive. What’s my best way of copying the whole kaboodle, media and all to my new drive, without disrupting the original arrangement. Thanks Guy

When I am cutting, on MC 2020,I use the audio mixer and extra edits to raise and lower the volume on my sequence. When I export the sequence, all the levels I had set are ignored, music far too loud etc. I have to do an audio mixdown to be able keep the correct audio levels.
