hmm, then perhaps a script that turns off all layers with certain text in its name?
    Is that possible?

what got me thinking that this is possible is the trapcode echospace demo video shows the effect, which basically, automatically applies expressions to layers it creates, turn ON/OFF sets of layers visibility.

Dan, is there a way to get the driven layers visibility switch to turn off (rather than turn off opacity)

I am trying to turn on/off sets of layers to make the project easier to work around/render, and am hoping turning of sets of layers (automatically using experssions) will help.

For example, I would like to turn off all titles, then maybe turn off all motion footage clips etc.

    thanks!

try using CC page turn to animate the flipping down of a page.
duplicate that effect on your next sequential image several frames later.

repeat this process for as many images you have for your flip book.

what imagery are you trying to turn into a flip book (perhaps I can help some more)

create a grid (using “grid” effect)
    apply “CC Sphere” effect
    animate the rotation parameter.

using the default settings actually gives you a pretty nice looking sphere.

how fast does the “pop up” happen? If it is like a popcorn popping type of effct (quick)
all you need to do to sell this effect is to set your anchor point to the bottom of the layer, then scale up from zero to 100 over 3 to 5 frames.
repeat this layer many times and spread out over you terrain and you have your effect.

As for the color change, you could just animate a color filter (color balance, or hue saturation, color balance or any combo of these)
