    Spot on.
Making folks who don’t know you not like you is never a good idea…especially when not booked. Fishing is about enticing and timing. Throw stuff out peaople want and let em come to ya. Be patient. Get up early if ya have to. If ya jump in, ya scare the fish away and old fihermen will yell at you.

    lol
When was the last time ya saw a race on Speed?
    Or actuality on TRU?
Ever seen a discovery on Discovery?
GTV prolly plays less gaming content than anything else.
The list goes on and on. As networks hand ratings to youtube they feel compelled to make great change. Instead of making that towards ratings via added interactivity, they have tried to get hip with reruns instead.
    go figure.
They’ll evolve long after the net adds proper bandwidth… leaving them buying time from web providers later rather than selling as they do now.

You can promote your tracker to the 3D DVE and rotate it within one effect. You’ll need to scale it up as needed too and then, if letterboxed, nest a new letterbox over that.

Client sin a hirry are your buddies. It allows you to stick to your hourly rates and bill multiple rooms to meet their deadline. It also keeps revision time happy time.
If needing to bid a flat fee for an entire project, just multiply the hours it should take by your hourly rate and fluff it for unexpected whatevers. I’m not a bif fan of pre production. The projectsI do have much of a documentary vibe so I’d rather just make thevideo than talk about making it but if pre pro is required, just make room for that in your bid.

The simple fix is to just not paint yourself into a corner by publishing rates. You can only run off business doing that. Leaving it open ended creates the dialog you want to create with potential clientele, gets you both on the same page with the project and allows you to bid on it accordingly.

For me, it’s because I purcahsed a “native HDV” adrenaline for $45k instead of a FCP set up for $10k. lol
Should they survive long enough, I do hope Avid stops their creative marketing shinanigans. I assume they are poising to sell or merge at this point.

  • No book can tell you where and when to cut, man. That is subjective opinion based on the elements before you. Nobody needs to read to learn how to edit anymore than having to shoot video to learn how to read a book. Sit down, start cuttin’ and be open to hittin’ undo. This is how you’ll become a good story-teller.

There has not been a work day in 25 years where I didn’t do some little something pro bono. To this day, never have a done a freeby.
Investments in relationships are opportinities. This is why the bono is pro.
