I work in my jammies and adhere to my own schedule. That revolves arounf the deadline and what I feel like doing on a particular day. I shower when my wife makes me, whether I need to or not. 😉
I crank up the jams, light the best insense and ensure I’m in creative mode before getting creative.
I could apply rules but, man, I could make a lot more money applying them at a place I hated to work at. No thank ya.

You’ll find anytime you have to call in, Avid has not seen it before. Kind of makes assurance worthless.
Outside of reinstalling, man, I’d say just us After Effects. It’s quicker, more powerful and prettier.

Maybe you did. Turning over stones should be more challenging than frustrating. I’d probably stop drerssing up so much. Like you said, it’s just an entry level gig and it’s in the video industry. You’ll hear over and over to just dress like the guy you are talking to and, as you’ve noticed, they are not all dressed up like they are late for church.
Keep cold-calling. Take what’s offered. Everyone wants free/cheap labor. You want a foot n the door. Know that’s a match going into it. Make sure you don’t refer to your degree as if that entitles you to something. Just list it and answer if asked. Also, make sure you are working on a current project. Should this question come up, you don’t want to say no to this one.

There are no 3D pessimists, David. There will just a lways be those who call the world flat.
The first time I saw a true 3D screen was at the LATVfestival and it was awesome. I found myself relocating to different places in the room, as if it would change. No glasses. No special programming. Just a cool and obvious invention to enhance our art.

I list the days of production and estimated number of post days only to assure we are on the same page date and deadline-wise.
I also list any fullfillment details, just as part of a confirmation.
Ine the end, they just need to know how much but in listing these things, it can help keep things clear al the way to the invoice stage.

I simply charge by the hour or bid flat prices for turn-key projects and work this stuff into that bid before hand. I don’t change my rate for doing different things. If I can’t go bill full rate because I’m booked… that’s at full rate.

When you know it and can edit anything and respond to any demand, you are ready.
No certificatoin or degree can give you that. Only time int he chair can.
