Hi Zachary,
I have never used Roles and I will see if this could work. D
o you know if I can export with handles and original TimeCode?
It may be an option and I will check it out.
Thanks for the tip.

Hi Andy,
Thanks for you input on this.
I think that in order to achieve what I am attempting, the only way is to have Motion Build the entire 4 minute effect with all the layers, Fonts, Live Video, Chroma Keys, Keyframe master camera animation and Color Correction all wrapped up into One 4 minute seamless master camera move on the master template canvas, I would need to build this in Motion not FCPX?
I just want to “create Motion Project” from FCPX sequence. Seems quite simple when you think about it – being that Apple already can do this quite seamlessly with Adobe Programs. . .
If I sound frustrated, I assure you that it is not with you and I really do appreciate all the info that everyone has given. I hope that there are some Apple people that are data mining all content on the internet – if so I will help the data mine search engine, so they can read this post.. .

Do you think it will help?

Hi Bret,
Thanks for this info.
Believe it or not, I am going to try it. . . 🙁
I may be an old fashion type of editor in trying to save client time and money by locking all my Content, Aroll, and Broll before moving to GFX. It seems that FCPX just is not ready for this yet.
Too bad because I was just starting to like it. . .
Thanks again.

Thanks Jeff,
Its not possible for me to work backwards like that. My FCPX edit was really building the content and the story and identifying the clips that are going to br comped into a 4 minute layered composite effect. So the only way to build that effect is with a composite program – FCPX would falter once I built 32 motion graphic layers – and try to group them all in different groups.
The ironic thing is that Motion handles importing Adobe projects better than its own Apple projects – go figure.
Thanks again for the info.

October 23, 2013 at 10:35 pm in reply to: Is it possible to split clips with the Range Selection tool?Hi Dustin,
Rather than range selection I think that you would be better off using the Blade tool to split clips.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Charlie,
I am having trouble embracing FCPX. Marking an “In” point is kinda important.
Seems that FCPX should think about fixing it.
Thanks again for this info. I am just curious, does this happen to everyone running FCPX? Or is it just a select few lucky guys like me?
Its great to be lucky. . .

October 14, 2013 at 2:59 pm in reply to: Motion 5 – Motion Tracking – Offset Track problemsHi Sandeep,
I am attempting to layer a font on the wall behind the athlete. I was hoping to track the back wall then roto-key/mask the athlete over the foreground.
My attempt at motion tracking is not working as well as yours. I noticed that when you have the second pass of the motion track that you get 2 green keyframe strings in you keyframe editor but the original keyframe string looks uninterrupted? Are the two green strings the “offset track” and are they transparent in the actual move but calculated keyframes on the original track?
When you select the second track “track point” do you just simply drag the yellow “target” on the canvas to the new track point? Or is there another way to do this? Also, what is the “tracker preview window”?
I have tried multiple times to delete the entire “analyze motion” layer and start over. I have also tried to do this on multiple clips with no luck. I think I am doing something drastically wrong.
Thank you very much for your input.

October 13, 2013 at 6:12 pm in reply to: Motion 5 – Motion Tracking – Offset Track problemsHi Sandeep,
Here are a few screen grabs.
I am attempting to track the background as the camera pans from right to left. On the first track I am tracking the white water bottle cap on the bottom right and it tracks fine until the image goes off screen.

Hi Patrick,
If you cannot extend the scene on the timeline then the footage does not exist. If you need to create longer clips then you will need to either Slow the original clips down _-Time Remap” or rebuild from scratch – or if you can do it with a sequence of freeze frames you could possibly extend you scene this way. Not sure what you are attempting. . .
Hope it helps.

Hi Christopher,
I use PHYX Keyer. Its a plug-in from FX Factory and it does wonders. It has many controls to correct most keys. I think it cost about $49. I hope this helps.
