You can also browse the card in Prelude and use it to transcode and ingest selected clips or pieces of clips.

  • Filmimpact.net just came out with a new set of 10 transitions that includes a killer “bad tape” transition called “Impact VHS Damage.”

    Yes, it costs. $89.
No, it’s not for AE — it’s a Premiere transition effect — but it’s very customizable, and you could use it to build elements you could then modify in AE.

    Good luck!

If you are converting a ton of files, I’ll put in a good word for Digital Heaven’s “Loader.” It sits on the edge of the FCP UI — drag and drop audio files onto it, and it will convert and copy them to your project directory. Well worth the $29.99 I paid years ago.

I have the same issue at times — usually re-opening the project, or just waiting a bit for the program to build the waveforms does the trick.

Travis — FWIW, I use one of those Beachtek boxes with my camera, and the mono audio comes in on ch.1 only.

You can avoid having to use “fill” audio filters after you’ve done your editing if, when you FIRST INGEST your clips, right-click the clips and do Modify -> Audio Channels, then in the “Modify Clip” box that comes up, change Channel Format from Stereo to Mono and then under “Source Channel” select whichever channel has the audio on it (in my case, Left).

This can be done in batch to a group of selected clips.

From then on, only the channel with audio goes to the timeline.

Note that clips already edited to the timeline aren’t affected by this process.

    good luck!

  • Not at this time. Tell Adobe it’s a problem for you, and until they fix it, hook up a mouse for keyframing and scrubbing values. Sorry.

This has happened to me. Go to the top of the right-hand pane (above the “Logging/Import Settings” buttons), click and drag down. Did the preview pane come back?

I noticed the delay on my MacPro when I moved to PP 6.0.2. When I downgraded to 6.0.1 it went away. Others have had similar issues.

Here’s an earlier thread about the problem. Annoying, isn’t it?

Are you using a mouse or a tablet? The UI in Premiere is very buggy with my Wacom. I’ve reported it to Adobe and Wacom, nothing fixed yet.
