When its on the Focusrite setting is when it freezes with other apps running
-
It looks like you’re right. I have 3 options. If I switch to Asio4all it plays fine out of my laptop speakers but I want to run my studio reference monitors. If I switch to the Premiere Pro sound driver it plays out the right channel of my monitors only. I would like to be able to run my Focusrite Driver with other apps simultaneously but that is when it freezes.

I use a Focusrite 8i6 external soundcard. What should my settings be?

I am editing some old home movies at 480p. I took the off of a DVD so they are .VOB files running off of my C: drive from a documents folder.
I have an external HD but I believe its 5400 RPM as well.

June 15, 2013 at 7:52 am in reply to: Premier pro cs 5.5 program monitor freezing cronicallyI am having this issue now. I can scrub through the timeline, save, and other stuff but it wont change frames in the monitor or playback at all. Its so annoying! I find that it happens when I switch to other applications like an internet browser or an audio program like VLC or FL Studio. It seems to be related to audio playback devices and/or Premiere Pro Layout files(.xml).
I haven’t figured out a permanent fix yet but if you shut down and go to documents/adobe/premiere and delete the whole folder it will start working again until the next time i try to use another program with audio playback at the same time as Premiere Pro.
I had to share my story in hopes someone finds a solution. email me @ illestmindset@gmail.com

This folder is automatically recreated by premiere pro wthe next time you open it up.

I have the best results when I use Premiere only and close all other programs.
