I’ve spoken with BM tech support and they have no idea why this is happening. The one suggestion they had is to roll back to Desktop Video 11.5 to see if the software is more compatible in earlier versions.

If you’re working on a PC, I highly recommend abandoning Premiere to do any captions creation. SubtitleEdit is a fantastic program that will very easily allow you to create and customize any type of captions. And once you have an SRT file exported out of SubtitleEdit you can very simply import it into Premiere and add it to your timeline.

I think it’s great that you’ve taught yourself how to use a very complicated professional software program. But at the same time, that may also be hindering your ability to work in it smoothly. Premiere is not a consumer friendly program at all. It’s designed for video professionals but all that really means is that the leaning curve can be steep…

Disappearing projects can be eliminated very easily. Make an autosave folder in a location separate from your main project location. Secondarily, select “save backup project to creative cloud.” If you do these two things it’s simply not possible to lose project files.

In the future just bring it into AfterEffects. It’ll be much easier than in Premiere.

Just don’t expect it to greatly improve the Premiere workflow. NVMe is lightning fast but Premiere doesn’t fully take advantage of that speed. You’re still at the mercy of your overall mobo PCIe lanes, CPU, GPU thruput.

Out of sheer curiosity, what’s the market for Edius X? I ask partly because in 25 years of working in this business I’ve never come across anyone who’s ever used Edius.

The only thing I would change would be the NVMe. I have the Sabrent 2T and it’s excellent and considerably cheaper than the EVO Plus.

Accusonus plugins are a much better option than Izotope RX7 if you’re using Premiere. Izotope plugins can wreak havoc on a Premiere system. There’s currently a bug with the Izotope RX7 plugins that can cause hard computer crashes if you’re working on a mac system.
