Hi Tony
you can select the affected clip, copy the effect in the Effect Controls clip preview panel and simply paste it to the clips individually or select all the clips and ctrl+V
or if your original clip has only that one effect (no opacity key framing etc) you can copy the clip and in the drop down panel (right click) select paste attributes.
hope that helps? -
Sorry, I reread your post, and see you have tried that. Ignore what I said then pls. Its too early in the morning for me still ;(

Sorry may be a silly suggestion, but have you tried unlinking the AV from each other and linking the AV you want to use together? You may be able to bin it then…
Instead of nesting 2 av tracks? -
Hi there Mike
not 100% sure if what you are explaining is all through AME but…
I always follow this process when trying to get good HD video with smaller file size for the web.1. encode out of Adobe Media Encoder as Quicktime Animation codec
this will give you quite a large file size 10Gb +2. open that encoded video in Quicktime 7 Pro and export out with the H.264 Codec
should get the file size down but keep the quality high.
normally anything above 4000kbs should be ok quality for HD and below 6000kbs should keep the file size down.good luck and shout if you need a screen shot of the settings i normally use.
cheers

Hi Roy
I have been looking for small jibs lately as well.
however my budget will not allow for the really nice Kessler Jibs Noah mentioned.
i may however be purchasing one of the smaller jibs from cinecity
https://www.thecinecity.com/eshop/product.php?productid=215&cat=293&page=1they are definitely not made as well and may not handle heavier cams but i was quite surprised that you do get a motorized pan and tilt head with it for about $1000
the other option I was looking at was from Hague
https://www.b-hague.co.uk/hague_hdv_boom_k8.htmbut you only get a tilt motion from that, if im not mistaken, for about £370
like Noah said “Really depends what you expect from a jib, how portable you want it and your budget”
hope that helps?
cheers

To be honest Richard, I am probably in the same boat when it comes to being lazy with DSLR Auto white balance.
but so far i have been editing footage from the 5D, 7D and 550D all together shooting on Auto WB and have not really had many problems matching the footage in the grade.
I may be mistaken but i think DLSR Auto WB handles a lot better than my old Canon XHG1, which i always had to set manually when shooting.I feel that unless your production is in a studio, and needs to be perfect, then Auto really does a good job of keeping whites white.
I am still a bit old school when it comes to the basics of Camera work, but so far i have not had any problems with my colours in my DSLR footage, so have no real need to be all “stuck in the mud” about it.
So i guess it comes down to what ever works best for you…
and yeah when i do need to balance whites then i take a still of a blank white page under the lighting setup and set the balance from there.
cheers

Some good points by Noah there
i had the same decision a few months back and ended up going with the T2i, purely because i was looking at the video features and not for a good stills camera, although since i bought it i have enjoyed getting into photography 🙂
Budget was the main deciding factor for me and you can’t complain about the price of the T2i
we put this small DSLR test together a few days after i bought the Rebel
Not the most scientific but it does speak volumes about what camera to buy if budget is a concern.
hope it helps in your decision and good luck
ps. you will need to splash out on some good glass as the kit lens with the T2i is not a very good lens.

Hi aaron
yeah you will start seeing problems once you begin grading or adding effects to the clips and trying to render the sequence. will prob take much longer to render the .mov H.264 clips.
as well as when you try and render your final video.
fcp may well start to throw out errors then.worth giving it a try as you can always just proxy the clips afterwards and then link to the new clips.
if you not sure on the proxy thing, i may have a small tut on my site
gregbrand.co.ukotherwise to be safe use mpeg streamclip and encode into Pro ress for best quality before editing.
hope that helps
