I ended up buying Sony Vegas platinum 11 pro it said it supported MOV files but not so,I ended up downloading a converter and had to convert from MOV to AV1 that was still no good so I went from AV1 to WMV now bloody fantastic.

    Hi Lance,

I tried converting MOV to AV1 but Sony Vegas Pro 11 did not like that so I re-converted the AV1 to WMV same as my old video camera and now all’s good , At least I have learnt something and I do like using Sony Vegas I find it very good with very good results.

    Cheers

    Hi Lance,

I first had to find out what codec even was, Here’s what I know and have done so far.
My camera is a Nikon and uses a SD card the video is full HD and uses MOV format and from what I read I had to covert the clips from MOV to, Some said AV1 so I found a free converter and converted all the clips to AV1, Sony Vegas Pro 11 would not except AV1 , I checked the converter and it will do WMV and that is what my old video camera took and Sony Vegas Pro 11 work well using the WMV so I’m going to try one clip and see what happens.

    Your thoughts

I will admit you are right I should have checked , Movie studio HD 9 worked great for my old Panasonic video camera and I do like using Sony Vegas even though it older version, I’ll just have to find a good free AVS converter

I used to have Sony Vegas studio HD on my old computer, I bought it on line but my computer crashed and lost it , I down loaded it again but could not find the code number to activate it I email Sony but they said they could not find any record of me having bought Sony Vegas.
It was strange when I bought it again 3 weeks ago as soon as I clicked on the buy now tab all my old name and address came up.

The reason I bought the same one was I was used to it and was very happy at the time

You are wrong about Vegas Movie Studio HD 11 Will not support MOV files , I just checked, The only one I cold find was Vegas Movie Studio platinum 11 pro and the cost, Way over my head, I will now look for another editing system that supports MOV files that I can afford, I have to as that what my Nikon camera produces.

Seems like Sony Vegas was money down the drain
