    [Francois Pénzes] “Any suggestions ?”

OMG Francois! OK, start analysing your Free space on which drives you have your System. No reformatting. Cleanup using CC. Check your Fans and heat. When did you last do a dusting/suck out of dust. I doubt it’s anything to do with VP per se, any Windoze Updates? Look through your M$ Update lists. Utilising GUI sticking smells of a corrupted GPU Driver. Whaddyah think?

Again, I doubt it’s VP. Sticking at GUI initialisation does smell of your GPU Driver. After all your checks do a System Restore?

    Keep us informed.

[Dimitrios Papadimitriou] “This information sure would have been useful to me before now whenever I would be fidgeting with a cookie cutter border.”

Hi Dimitrios! Yeah, been using VP for 18 years and this little wrinkle came about. Back in the day it was referred to as Pre- and Post- . VegasPro has developed so very much.

  • [Roger Crunden] “In my attempts to resolve my previous two problems I had clicked on the small split screen icon over the monitor. “

And that’s the FX Bypass Control, which I referred to.

[Roger Crunden] “Two accidents whilst editing on the timeline. The first was that the video suddenly split into two – a and b. “

Hi Roger! Does your Timeline look like this?

[Francois Pénzes] “Hence Graham’s query. “

Thanks Francois. We need more information from the OP to assist, otherwise we are chasing our tails. But it’s all good and a learning experience for all of us. Unfortunately, we need evidence-based, the use of MediaInfo, results to assist further.

So, over to you, “Extreme Video Pro” lets set MediaInfo loose on those files. We are here to help ????.

[Extreme Video Pro] “Could there be something else??”

    Has to be ????.

Start analysing the MOVs that reveal the Alpha Channel and then those that don’t. I’d use MediaInfo.

    Good luck.
