Thank you Andy for the suggestion. It actually turned out to be a fade in the original sequence. Deleting this removed the ghost voice. Re-instating the fade brought the voice back! Nothing underneath to allow the voice to be generated. Weird…
But thanks again for taking the trouble to help.

For PC
In the timeline hold alt and drag the title to where you want the next one to be. You have now created an editable copy that will not affect the original.
