Hi,

I have been reading an earlier thread “Firestore with HDX900” from march 2008. I that thread Mark D’Agostino writes
That “the firestore is definitely NOT for run and gun/docummentary situations” and “ We have lost shots on the firestore because it didn’t roll when we thought it did and the tapes saved us.”

Why didn’t the firestore roll? Was it because of connection problems with the firewire cabel?

Later in the thread Jeffs advice is to get a double down angle Firewire cable. Have this cabel done the connection more reliable? Is the occasions when the firestore dont roll less frequently?

I know this thread is old, but anyway…

Do you mean that I have to use the down-converted SDI instead of the firewire? Or is there a way to down-convert and the use firewire.

I have a avid program that I have used to edit DVCAM earlier. When I select format I have selected 25i PAL.

I thought that 25 in 25i PAL stands for 25 megabit per second? What do you think about that?

Hello and thanks for the support so far!

If I copy files from the FS100 onto my laptop computer and import it into my NLE, how long would it take?

For example one hour HD footage. How soon can I start edit it?

Next question: Sometimes I work with news. The HDX900 records in 720p,but could I record it in DVCPRO 25 on the FS100?
