ok i have used sweep nurbs and am getting the effect i desire. I would also like certain points of the sweeped line segment to move to random positions throughout the animation(for an abstract effect). Is it possible to add the vibrate tag to certain points only?

    Wow. Awesome work.
Im also looking for a similar effect. Did you use sweep nurbs? Sometimes the corners keep jittering. How to avoid that?

    Thanks a lot.
Ok I have one more question. How can I add certain textures to only the top facing sides of certain specific cubes in the grid?

For eg: I want an autodesk logo to be on cube at 2×3, an adobe logo to be at cube 5×9 etc.

    oh ok….thanks todd.
I didnt know the pan behind tool also compensates the position in relation to the anchor point to make the object appear at the same location.

yeah i had done some booleans on it. my bad.
But even other clean areas look blunt. Is there anything I can do with the phong angle?

    Thank you.
I also have another question. Is it possible to soften edges or anything like that in c4d? Because when i align normals, the object looks very faceted and sharp. I read somewhere that if I delete the normals tag, I can get it to look softer but that just makes the model very blunt and the lighting on it gets very messed up.

thanks a lot adam for responding.
Thing is I also have a floor object. How do I set it up so that it receives shadows and reflections only and does not appear in diffuse channel?
