You would select the node with the ofx plugin ..ctrl c or command c… and then paste it onto a new node on another clip. Or grab a still of a clip if it only has the ofx plugin you want.

sounds like some weird caching issue, or optimized media thing. Did you make optimized media at some point, or turn on caching?

Its like it has cached the version with the plug in disabled, but cant differentiate between it and the raw clip.

  • I honestly don’t know if there is a setting for that…I think it just saves the last state of the bin when you close it.

If you right click on the name column, and sort by ascending, then close the bin, what happens when you re open the bin?

I always use the sort by ascending option…not sure if it makes a difference or not.

I do wish you could select only 1 node from a tree (or multiple nodes) and save those as a still, rather than making a new version, deleting the nodes you don’t want, saving a still, then switching back to the original version, and deleting the un-needed version.

Right click save node(s) as still would be much appreciated.

Deleting of posts is not allowed.

As with any question or observation…no matter how silly it seems, or how simple the solution seems, it is entirely possible you are not the first or last person to come up with the question, so it hurts nobody to leave it posted.

  • 1st step is to narrow your focus. You mention you are using all types of audio files….that is not a great way to troubleshoot the issue. Pick one file type and try it, and report back its exact specs. In the old days Resolve could only work with 48k audio. 44k would not produce any sound. I think that has been changed, but I’m not positive.

Help us out by first making sure the specs of your audio should work. If you are not seeing meters moving, then the cause might be your audio format.

Glad its working, but I don’t think that was the problem. Animation is just a codec…same as H.264 or ProRes. Shouldn’t matter if anything was actually “animating” during your flow.

Just one of those things perhaps.

February 18, 2018 at 4:25 pm in reply to: Save Compound Clip into Power Bin?

You could always do each track individually, and label them as trk 1, 2, and 3 in the power bin. A compound clip is really just a timeline, and I guess you can’t put a timeline into a power bin. I’m assuming you would need to dive into the compound clip at some point anyway to edit its contents. Not as eloquent as what you were trying to do, but would give you the same results.

mpeg streamclip is free, can save presets, and has a batch option.

Yes, its a shame to so strictly restrict a demo version, when it really makes it almost impossible to test your workflows with it. (As if that huge red bar across the screen wasn’t enough)

For a 200 dollar plug in (230 ish in Canada), I kinda need to do a proper test with it.

For now, i’ll stick with transcodes through Resolve for free.
