  • I have a BMPCC4k, not 6k, but with a mini spliter, i can send two different mics into the camera for recording on separate channels. Your audio workflow seems a bit convoluted, rather than recording in camera. I could also send 1 via mini, 1 via xlr…there must be some way of sending two mics to the 6k.

“Slipping Audio in Source Settings is not Perf Slip and I don’t think it translates to Pro Tools etc.”

Well that sucks, expecially since it does allow you to slip by actual perf presets.

I’ve never used it, just saw it there and thought…Oh, good to know.

  • I agree with Michael. Resolves 32 bit float means you can do all sorts of adustments in a string of nodes, or create layer or parallel nodes to do this type of work. There is no need for multiple versions of the shot. Give it a try. Over expose on node 1, so a window is totally blown out, then on node 2, draw a shape around the window and bring the exposure back down…or do it with a layer node as the input being your source for each node.

I see this every now and then with many file formats. Linking through the browser doesn’t work, but alt drag from explorer does. I think its a cache issue, or memory thing where it thinks the file is already linked, so it skips it.

you can perf slip linked audio in the source files settings page. Don’t need to be in a film project anymore.

  • Well, now i don’t feel so old…we only used Letraset in school..my first tv station was actually quite modern, only being a year old…although we did suffer through MII (M2) machines.

I see, I misread the earlier post.

Interesting, I didn’t know they were restricting bin sharing. One of my dongles is on an older version of Avid (perpetual), and it still works with that version. Must have changed after the 2018 versions?

I’m not sure I follow your logic. How does Standard vs Ultimate affect bin locking?

  • I grew up with a “Dubner” …about 7 years before I used my first Chyron, so i’ve never actually called the process a Chyron. I’ve always referred to it as a “super” “Super in….Super out” was what I called for when I used to direct the news in the early 90’s.

The pic in pic …we used to call that a DVE box, also named after the company that branded the device we used to create the effect. DVE has also become a bit of a generic term, but i’m positive the control panel we used, was actually labeled with DVE right on it.

I’ve heard dve referred to as Digital Video Effect, but it might have been a company name at one point.

The bar on the side…not sure i’ve ever seen that as a common tool. Sure, double pillarboxes were pretty common when HD first came out, and we had to place SD material into the screen, but that obviously isn’t what is happening here. I have a feeling, it is simply a design element the’ve come up with. Perhaps intended to put a list down the side of the screen.
