Are you sure the drives were n’t cloned instead of just copied

Not sure about the windows side, but on the mac side you go through the desktop video app and select your input/output options.-selecting hdmi vs SDI vs component, as well as the audio connection you want to use. Im assuming on the windows side there is a program installed with desktop video that you would launch and do the same thing.

Not sure how your mapping is made..By T do you have that making in to out? If so, that is unnecessary for a match frame….won’t affect what your problem is, but just saying….
You should be able to do exactly what you are saying. Only turn on the V1 or V2 track for the item you want to match frame…hit match frame, and you are good to go.
What options are you given if you try to cut what you’ve match framed back into your sequence? Is there a video track available on your source side? Is it possible the viewer icon on your source side is turned off?
(Little square next to the V1 track)Try right clicking on your clip and accessing match frame this clip from there. See if it does anything different.

If the other two can access that media, im assuming at some point one of them did a scan and rebuilt the database? (I don’t use Unity, but im assuming there is still only one data base for all shared boxes) If thats the case my question would be why does the third Avid do any scan at all…it should read the data base and move along. The only quick troubleshoot i can think of is to rename the media folder on that partition so it has nothing for Avid to scan. Launch the third Avid and see what it does. If it locks up, perhaps its time for a quick un-install, re-install. If it doesn’t lock up, can it digitize to that partition. If it can digitize, my guess would be something corrupt in the media. You could try moving media back into that partition a little bit at a time to see if you can find a range of clips that it doesn’t like.

You are thinking in terms of Final Cut Pro perhaps…where it is more difficult to have everything on the timeline move together.
Avid does not assume you want everything to move together. If you want to lock tracks sync toghether you have to select the little box beside the tracks you want to sync together. Beside the V1 or A2, or what ever track you are looking at is a skinnier box. Click it and a little slash/tick will come on. That track will now move with the track you are inserting to. If you want to lock all tracks together, go the the bottom of your patch panel. at the bottom of the column that has those slash/ticks, there is another box. Click in it and they will all turn on or off.

Just remember when you do your lasso- as Shane said, it only works from one side to the other. Drawing your box the other way gives a different command (trim vs select) Make sure your box complete covers the edits you want to affect. If you end your box halfway through an edit, that edit won’t be included in the selection…just the edits that the box completely surrounded.

You won’t have to pay again. Downloads are always free. The “Payment” doesn’t occur until you launch the installed program for the first time and it asks you for your serial number and SID number. Those items you will receive from Avid when you pay for the software in the first place. Keep that information, as you’ll need it if you want to transfer licenses to different computers.
Yes for Mac Avid, you have to run the uninstaller program in your applications folder, remove everything, then run the new version you just downloaded. Make sure you un-register your software from within the program before you uninstall it. (You already have a registered version running on your box correct?)

They might plug into that slot, but the data rate on an SSD is higher than the spinning disc version of a Hard Drive. That data rate is what you need to get those recordings to work.
Even if it did work,one bump on the camera, you could lose your entire hard drive.
That wouldn’t sit well with too many clients.

download the Media Composer trial. Try it for 30 days and see how it works on your system. You can also see how it handles your workflow. Essentially the same software as Symphony- minus some color correction.
