missing tape/reel info in avid, but same tc. How was your footage brought into Avid in the first place.

your frame size and your decode or debayer quality or not the same thing. You can have low res 4k, or high res 4k. Work at lower res for the playback, and then switch to high res (full quality) for your render.

If you are trying to adjust audio and video on your timeline, then you can add a marker on the video track where the clapper is closed, add a marker on the audio track when you hear the click, and then move one of them back and forth to line up the markers. Markers will be added to what ever track is the top most active track, so to just do audio one you you have to deactivate all your video tracks before adding a marker. I would also go into wave form view to mark the audio tracks.

I too am confused by the “move to a bin” question.

If you delete associated media…its gone. You would have to go back to original. If it is on dissolves try removing the dissolve. Are both sides of the dissolve still online. Sounds like some missing renders? Did you render to a different drive originally? I know you said the media in the bin is online…does a match frame take you to that bin? Sounds like an odd question, but if you had two versions of the media perhaps you are referencing the wrong version.

try manually deleting your databases. ( MDB file inside you avid mediafiles/mxf/1…/2../3 etc folders.)

if it is flaking on and off, i would suspect the drive just as much. If you can id the footage from a segment that keeps going on and off, perhaps move it to a local drive and see if the problem persists.
(match frame the clip, find bin, rightclick on it and reveal file) this would also confirm if you are looking at renders when it is online, or original media. For that matter, when something goes from the offline to online state, match frame that clip…is it still online? if it becomes offline when you do the match frame, you are probably looking at a render in the timeline, but don’t have the original clip available anymore.

Double check that your media is available, in an accessible drive.

Maicon, lets go back to the basics.

Make a folder called 55 and place it in the Avid MediaFiles/MXF folder. Forget about all the other folders in that area.

Take your resolve created mxf media and move it into the 55 folder

Launch Avid.
You should see the dialogue stating that Avid is indexing the 55 folder.

in avid, make a new bin, and make it so you can also see your 55 folder in the finder or windows explorer.

Go into 55 and drag the mdb file directly from the explorer window over into your avid bin.

This should populate your bin with all the media in that folder, and clarify whether the media is valid or not.

you say you copied the folder inside the mxf/1 folder…does this mean you added another folder into that mix? You need to copy the files to the mxf/1 folder, or create a new folder with a new number and put your files there. mxf/2. Avid can’t read subfolders inside the “1” folder.

Unfortunately, that sounds more like a hard drive problem than anything else. Have you tried copying the files off the drive to a local location and then re AMA?

AMA linking to the files doesn’t actually do anything to the files. The original files should be the same as they were before you linked to them.

The qt’s you created out of avid are probably in a codec that FCP can’t recognize…perhaps an avid dnx codec?

If you are pointing FCP to the original files, on the external drive, and they are coming up green, there is a chance FCP can’t work with that codec either. You haven’t said what your original files are.

I would suggest going back to Avid. If you no longer have your AMA links, redo those and transcode the media, and continue on in Avid. If you still have working AMA links, start transcoding.

If you need to output for FCP, you will have to try a couple of different codecs untill you find one that works for you. In the end it will probably be quicker to transcode and stay in Avid. Outputting a whole bunch of of self contained quicktimes for use in FCP isn’t going to be a fast process.

You could also try running your footage through Resolve and create proRes files, but again, it could take awhile, depending on your amount of footage.
