I’m afraid so. I’ve never had succes multi selecting the clips and changing the setting.

My point is that as much as it would be nice if every possible iteration of workflow requests could be automated, they aren’t.
You can also bring in all the subfolders, and then move all the media up to the top level of that folder, which if i understand it is the reel name you are looking for.

Sony XAVC Intra encoding is listed under Davinci Resolve 12 Studio only. Nothing to do with going up to UHD or not, its more about the codec to do the encoding being included in the software.

That does sound good. I’m assuming for his output he will be getting sound files from a sound house anyway…if they are looking for SAP and Discribed video.

if you google avid dnxhd codec, you will find an avid page which explains the difference between the free dnx codec pack “LE” and the one that comes with Avid “PE”

inside your 24 project, can you call up the motion effect editor and promote the clips and try a different interpolation method. I get this a lot when going the other way. Footage comes in at 24, but we have to deliver broadcast of 720 59.94. Usually you can see the issue inside Avid however, so its easy to promote and pick a method that cleans up the problem. (Are you viewing on a computer monitor in Avid, or a broadcast monitor?) I wonder if that is why you aren’t seeing the issue.

I don’t think you can do it directly on a windows box anyway.
(I master through Avid DS, not Media Composer, so I’ve never delt with this issue inside MC)Can MC do a 4 channel output…yes, you can do a direct output.
But I also think Avid needs to be set as same as source for this tab to become active. So in your situation, you would need your avid timeline video to be prores in the first place. You could do a mixdown to prores, but you don’t have the Miraizon codec installed, so that isn’t really an option. You could try a direct out and then attempt Bouke’s idea. (I’m going to look into that one myself)Personally I would call the client and see if they can take an DnxHD codec instead. I find a lot of people ask for ProRes “just because” It isn’t necessarily because it is the only file type their system will play. (doesn’t hurt to ask)
You could also ask a friend with a mac to convert your file to prores as well, but be sure the levels don’t get screwed up along the way.

I think you’re thinking too hard about this. Under the master bin, hit the plus button and make a new bin, and name it what ever reel you want to bring in. Then with that bin selected, import your clips. No it is not totally automated, but it isn’t really that big of a deal to make a new bin for each reel you want to bring in.

I’m assuming your client has a need for 4 specific audio channels?
Is he (or she) simply asking for a split-out, or a mix and a mix minus? You may want to clarify what/why they are really asking for.
I use miraizon prores out of Windows all the time with no issues, delivering to clients and distributors, unfortunately it is no longer being sold, but there are workarounds if you do some research.
