The card is not the problem. I am thinking I might have to reinstall motion and or final cut.

I think we are having two separate issues.

As for the card I would recommend it if you want to get something affordable. Other than the fact I had to search long and hard to hook it up with two vga monitors (it uses an adc port) I like it a lot.

I was having these issues before the card, I actually got the card thinking it might solve them. I am really beginning to think it is QT 7.1.

Well then, that would be a totally different problem.

Hopefully the gurus here can help us both out. Or lead us in the right direction.

Actually I am having the same issue with my G5 to some extent. It is when I use finally cut or Motion and use an effect. It is totally intermittent and I have not been able to isolate the problem. It happened with 2 video cards for me, the stock ATI 9600 XT (I think) and my newly upgraded x800 xt card.
I suspect it is something going on with the new quicktime.

Does the problem go away after you shut down for a while and come back to the project? This would stall the problem for me although nothing fixed it.

I have been using 3d invig for sometime now and recently upgraded the new release 3.1v of classic. I’ve been crashing quite a bit and also it cause me to not be able to save anything in after effects.
I get a “not enough memory message”. I hope that you can help with this as I see that some others have experienced similar problems.

Also when I manipulate my sets the way I like it all of a sudden disappears and is replaced by flashes of other layers within my composition. These layers flash for a single frame and are transparent for a majority of their duration. These oddities have made it difficult to complete what should be a “simple” animation. Any help that you could give would be greatly appreciated.

And if anyone else has any information of possible issues that I might also want to address to fix this problem please reply.
