You can disable this knob by setting the audio ch1 level & audio ch2 level items on the audio 1 page of the maintenance menu. It’s factory preset to be enabled. Hope this helps

    Craig,
Thanks! That solved it for me. My drive was about half full so don’t get why it was consistently freezing…

timecode letterboxed DVD copies are a necessary part of my workflow as editing is done in various locations with different editors who like dvd’s portability. I’m going to a remote Asian country for a month soon with both cameras & would much prefer SxS cards files copied on xdcam discs, even if they don’t play from the camera. When I see the drives on my mac, from both cameras, I see files that need to be copied. I don’t like idea of having all footage of Ex-1 being on one hard drives array that could be lost or confiscated. For me files are files & should be possible to be copied to my xdcam disks.

I’m currently archiving SxS cards on mirrored dual 750g sata drive units & trust this much more than my slow recording dl dvd recorder. In my experience DVD’s I’ve burned have had a very high failure rate after a few months in storage or slightest scratch. Copying the xdcam folders with FAM or from FCP timeline would be ideal as professional disks are my preferred archive method. There must be a way of rewrapping or some kind of a workaround. I’ll keep looking

I found my sd output directly from ex-1 so have good ntsc dvd copies made. It would be nice to figure out how to get the 2 cameras talking to each other…I’d like to use professional discs for archiving ex-1 footage

February 27, 2006 at 12:06 am in reply to: decklink Hd downconversion problem

    Thanks for the answer.
This is bad news indeed as I need a realtime downconverter for offline editing.I misunderstood badly the advertising that came with the decklink HD description before I bought this card. It is not very practical to capture many hours of hdcam material & then output to dvcam in a seperate process.
