    Thanks Mike,

I understand that it depends on many factors. Now I know that 2.5 hours is not impossible. I now have 3 related questions:

    1. Is it safe to say that rendering an .mpg2 in Vegas Pro and using the default DVD Architect DVD production settings will provide a top quality DVD for my client?

    2. Do I need to be concerned with all this CBR/VBR/1-pass/2-pass/bit-rate issues when creating a DVD?

    3. Let’s say I have a simple (non-motion) menu system, and creating the DVD fron an mpg2 render.. what would be the approx. max video length on a single layer DVD?

I hope my question make sense.

Yes, make sure you apply the fx at the clip level, in project media.

  • Thanks for this Terry. I hadn’t come across this one.

It helped. I may give it whirl and see if it will suit my needs.

you’re welcome Jerry. It feels good to give back to the community which has been absolutely incredibly helpful to me and my questions and learning process.

I’m curious, what steps do you take to do the split screen version for color correcting?

    Got it to work.

When I’m in multicam edit mode, the split screen doesn’t show the effect being applied but ,,,, they actually are. When exiting multicam edit, all is well.

    I found a workaround.

I set my configuration such that the trimmer had one take and the preview had the take I wanted to adjust. Seeing both, I was able to match up the colors while viewing both clips to match simultaneously.

    I hope this helps others.

    Hi again John,

I’m trying what you suggested and am having challenges.

I’ve created my multicam video track (with 2 takes switching back and forth). Now I’d like to color correct one of them. So I went to the project media, applied an effect (color correcton types, brightness, etc) but the result is not seen.

What am I doing wrong? I hope I don’t have to apply the effect BEFORE I do my multicam edits as I’ve spent hours selecting the takes combination :).

    Thanks,
    Gilles.
