Ok. I’m back again.
I checked my settings. And I saw, that I made a mistake. When I drag and drop the logged and transfered files into a new fcp-sequence and click yes to match the sequence to the footage, fcp chooses: 1920×1080, 25fps, apple pro res 422, field dominance: none.
So, I have 25 frames/sec. These isn’t an issue thus.

As I don’t have the camera with me at the moment, because I rented it, when I shoot, I cannot check what exact setting i choose for shooting. Might it be, that the european version of the camera has other formats then the american? When I check the Specs on the european site though it says, that the camera shoots only (?) progressive, if I understand it right… https://de.canon.ch/For%5FHome/Product%5FFinder/Camcorders/High%5FDefinition%5FHD/LEGRIA%5FHF%5FS11/index.aspx?specs=1

But then it would make even less sense, when I have these interlaced lines, right? Why do I have these lines and not only the lines, but also a duplication of the image within the image (see my still), if it seems to be that I have progressive footage, at least after the import?

Thanks for the time you guys invest in answering our questions. It’s very helpful.
First, it seemed to me, that the point with the upper-first was very helpul, too. But, I do not get rid of these interlace lines. Or whatever it is.
I shoot with the Canon Legria HF S11. I shoot in 50i, with MXP: High Quality 24mbps, which seems to be 1920×1080.

I do import the files from my camera via log and transfer into fcp 7. I do choose in the settings: apple pro res 422.
Now, when I watch the files in the viewer (not 100%) they have these interlace lines.
When I watch the files in the viewer (100%) they still have the lines.
When I drag and drop the files into a sequence and let choose fcp the hopefully right codec itself, it chooses: 1920×1080, 24fps, apple pro res 422, field dominance: none. When I watch the sequence now in the canvas, it has still the lines, whether I watch it 100% or not.
When I change the sequence’s setting to field dominance: uneven (is this the same as upper-first?, I’m translating from german fcp…), then the lines seem to disapear in the canvas, if I watch it not 100%. BUT they are still there, when I watch it 100%.

Do you have any suggestions (I hope i placed my question at right place here)?

ok, what i did up to now to play it with bluray is the following: from fcp via compressor i’m exporting an Apple ProRes 422 (HQ)-file. than in toast it’s encoded again to a mpeg-4 avc file, that’s actually the automatic setting in toast. that’s the process a friend of mine showed to me. it takes hours to encode it with compressor and again hours to encode it with toast. that’s also a reason why i want to avoid the bluray. it seems to me a bit of a complicated process, but the result is very good.

as my project is 70 minutes long, i guess i need a player with a built in hd. so apple tv maybe a solution. but maybe there’s something a littel cheaper…

Well. with bluray it takes me hours to burn it. i thought with an hd player it would be faster, too. and as i see they don’t play only one format but several. so not only hd, but i could use also for my old sd-stuff, correct?

yes, that was a mistake. of course, usb-sticks won’t work, because my video is 70 minutes long.
and yes, i mean the video-codec.

and sorry for my english being not perfect. thanks for your help anyway.
