That worked. But wow what a pain. We edit in Prores HQ because we deliver in Prores HQ but we’ll have to export in Uncompressed and convert the final into Prores. Good news is the new mac pros with the new version of compressor can do a 22min show in less then 5 min!

    Thanks!

    HI Craig,
Thanks for the response. I’m working with 7 edit systems, 9 people and a broadcast deadline. So even if Apple is no longer updating FCP7, I’ve tested this work flow and know it gets the job done. Switching for a company of our size is not as easy as just buying some software.

We’re working with an overseas animation studios that render on 100 or more Windows based machines and, currently, ship out uncompressed 10 bit files to us to post. Our clients were asking if there’s a way to skip the shipping step and use a download of some kind. Because 10 bit uncompressed is so large, we’ve never really had luck doing that, so I’m just asking if there was an alternative that will not sacrifice quality.

    Thanks
