It is very likely a rolling shutter issue. Since the flashes of light are so fast, only part of the sensor is exposed and then the flash is over before the rest can be. It’s a tough one to fix. If you have too much trouble with it, try to think of alternative stylistic solutions. If something is messed up, just mess it up more and call it art!

Hmm, a little bit of a tough one. Try playing with this a little.

Duplicate your footage and change the transfer mode to add. Didnt do it?

Try offsetting the footage very slightly by a frame or 2. Maybe mask half of it and play with the feather.

Something in that range of solutions might do it for you

Not really clear on what the problem is from the description or screenshots. Can you try to clarify what the problem is or perhaps upload a video?

  • Try purging your memory. Also, check your disk cache allotment.

If the timing is even slightly changed in the video, it has to recalculate. If you put a keyframe at the end, but remove one from the beginning, it has to recalculate also since there is no keyframe where there once was.

  • Purging the memory may fix it for you.

If not, do a memtest. You may have bad ram. Could be a lot of other things, but that is certainly a possibility.

  • There really are a million ways to do this, but I would just fade in a tint effect if you don’t want a wipe. However you choose to do it, I would put the effect on an adjustment layer so that you have a lot more control of it. This way, you can animate a mask or do whatever you want to it.

Just looked a little closer at it and saw the dashed lines that precede the main banner, and assumed you were wondering about that. So, still use the line as I suggested, but duplicate that line (trim paths and all), make it dashed and offset it in time so that the animation is just before the trim paths of the track matte for the other layer.

I would do it with a track matte.

Just create a line that goes through the middle of the ribbon as a shape layer, and add a stroke so that the width covers the edges of the ribbon. Add a trim paths and animate that. Then put the shape on top of the ribbon layer and change the trk matte in the ribbon layer to alpha matte.

They also used a tracking animation on the text with some inertial bounce to give it that springy look.

A simple way to add noise to your gradient is just to use the scatter effect. It’s quick and’ll get er’ dun

It’s in 3d – move it backwards in z space
