I have used this exact model of MBPro to cut two feature films and grade two (other) features, as well as countless smaller form projects. The first feature was C300, the second was 4K Red RAW. Seamless playback and performance through the entire edit and color grade. I cut both in FCPX, which handles those formats much better than some other platforms. Graded both in DaVinci Resolve. The machine is definitely aging now, but if you can get it on the cheap, no reason to think it couldn’t handle the job.
