Thank you David. You might have just prevented my wife from having me committed. For some reason, I loath reading manuals, with predictable results I guess. I’ll pull out my cool little white box and see what other simple tricks I’m missing.

Sounds like good advice. Can you elaborate a little?

    Thanks Jason,
I don’t know how I did it, but I managed to get a mysterious splotch on the middle of my viewfinder.

    Clint,
Thanks for the advice I wound up doing a time lapse of the moon. I was shocked to find that I actually needed to be quite careful with the shutter setting in order to avoid “washout”. The first portion of my shot was ok, but the moon moved out from behind some mist, became brighter, and lost all detail. I am not sure if auto iris would help as I don’t dare touch the camera. I can see that there is potential there for a good shot though.

You betcha. I originally just downloaded the transfer software. After your suggestion I went and downloaded the clip browser as well. I need to spend some time with it, but am going out today to get some footage of our first snowfall.
By the way, what is the downside of just dragging the BPAV from the camera into my hardrive?

Bruce, you are a genius. All the footage was there, and all I had to do was rename my folder back to BPAV. I didn’t even have to delete it all and re-transfer it to the hardrive!! I am in your debt!! I like your suggestion of the named folder. I just have to come up with a good naming scheme.

I was wondering if I could use something like an “eliminator’ to power my EX3. It is basically just a car batter, with jumper cables and an inverter. People use it to jump there cars in an emergency, or run a lamp, small t.v. or other appliance. I am worried about messing up my camera with low voltage, amperage, etc. Anybody every try something like this?
