    Hello Everyone,
I’m a new final cut using having switched from Adobe Premier. Anyway, I am having trouble with inserting one clip above another on the timeline. Everytime I do, the clip on the track below splits as though I am replacing that portion of the clip, not just laying another track overtop. It’s getting pretty frustrating. Any suggestions on how to stop FCP from doing this?

Thank you David. You might have just prevented my wife from having me committed. For some reason, I loath reading manuals, with predictable results I guess. I’ll pull out my cool little white box and see what other simple tricks I’m missing.
